Why Baseblue?

As the industry embraces a green transition, we’re at the forefront, providing services and tools to guide our customers on this journey. Your Profile

We’re on the lookout for candidates with a strong sales drive, a competitive spirit, and a winning attitude. If you’re a creative, curious, result-driven individual committed to lifelong learning and self-development, and driven by smashing sales targets, we want to hear from you! You could be the perfect fit if you:

  • Have excellent English skills, both written and spoken
  • Are a quick learner, eager to delve into the oil trading business
  • Are ready to put in the effort to achieve outstanding results
  • Have experience in sales and/or hold a bachelor’s degree in shipping (desired, not a prerequisite)
  • Are fluent in other languages such as Danish, German, Italian (desired, not a prerequisite)

About the Job

From day one, you’ll be an integral part of the trading floor, with hands-on training, working from our Groningen office with a young group of industry professionals. Participate in internal and external courses, learn the art of trade (buying/selling), and be guided on establishing your own customer portfolio and sourcing channels. Your daily tasks will include:

  • Building relationships with existing and new business partners
  • Conducting market research
  • Participating in client and supplier visits

The phone will be one of your key tools, and you’ll work closely with our global trading team. Our job scope isn’t limited to local markets – we operate worldwide from our offices. We trade marine fuel (bunkers) and our job is to ensure that we provide our clients with the best solution possible in terms of product, supply port, delivery, and pricing. As traders, we don’t oversee the physical supply, but we stay in close communication with all stakeholders (supplier, agent & customer), ensuring a seamless, smooth operation. You’ll keep a close eye on the oil market, regional supply developments, and the availability of bunkers in critical ports.

Looking to relocate?

Our office in Groningen has a strategic location close to shipping cities like Amsterdam and Hamburg, and markets such as Denmark and the UK. It offers a youthful city vibe, being a “student town” with nearly 50,000 students out of a 200,000 population, but it’s also a great place to raise children.

Ready to make waves in the shipping industry? Apply via the link below and tell us why you’re the perfect fit for Baseblue. We’re eager to hear from you. We’ll process applications as they come in and will close the process once we’ve identified the right candidate.
