Leading the way in decarbonisation
According to the International Maritime Organization (IMO), the shipping industry was responsible for approximately 2.89% of global CO2 emissions in 2020. This may not sound like a lot, but if left unchecked, emissions from the maritime sector are projected to triple by 2050, which would account for up to 17% of global emissions.
Although the maritime sector will continue to rely on traditional fuels in the foreseeable future, without our strong commitments and leadership the sector will not meet its decarbonization target.
Our commitment to the maritime industry’s decarbonization efforts using alternative fuels is unwavering. Our goal is to provide support and guidance to help achieve this objective. Our collective efforts can make a significant contribution to the environment and pave the way for a better future.
