Baseblue Achieves GHG Verification and Validation under ISO 14064 Standards
We are pleased to announce that Baseblue’s Cyprus office has been officially verified and validated for its greenhouse gas (GHG) efforts, which align with international standards. This marks a significant milestone in our ongoing commitment to improving environmental practices within the maritime industry.
As of May 2024, Baseblue Cyprus has successfully received:
- Verification of the Greenhouse Gas Inventory for Reporting Year 2023, under the scope of ISO 14064-1
- Validation of the 2025–2030 Greenhouse Gas Emissions Reduction Action Plan, under the scope of ISO 14064-2
These achievements were completed through the Sponsorship Scheme for the Encouragement of Greenhouse Gas Emission Reduction in Enterprises, issued by the Cyprus Department of Environment under the February 2024 Grant Scheme (C2.1I4).
What the Scheme Covered
The scheme supported a comprehensive process that included:
- Development of a GHG Emissions Monitoring Plan tied to Baseblue’s operational activities
- Submission of a Greenhouse Gas Inventory Report for the reference period (average of 2022–2023)
- Completion of a Verification Report based on the national inventory requirements
- Creation of a robust GHG Emissions Reduction Action Plan projecting initiatives through to 2030
- Delivery of a Validation Report outlining measurable forecasts for each action included in the plan

Verification and validation under ISO 14064 standards represent a high level of credibility and transparency. These certifications demonstrate that Baseblue is not only tracking its emissions accurately but is also taking strategic steps to reduce them in the long term.
