BMS United, Bunkernet, and SBI Sign Definitive Merger Agreement to Form Baseblue Company

BMS United Bunkers, Bunkernet and SBI (Sea Bunkering International), leading marine fuel supply companies, announced that they have entered into a definitive merger agreement to create the Baseblue Company, forming an industry leader in marine energy solutions.

This merger of equals results in a larger and financially more solid company that can offer complete, comprehensive, dependable and reliable marine energy solutions to a wider range of clients. In an era of disruption in shipping, the new company offers a wider range of services, including alternative fuels, emissions trading and digital optimization.

Lars H. Nielsen, of BMS, will maintain the position of CEO. At the same time, Gregoris Gregoriou, Managing Director of Bunkernet, is appointed Chief Commercial Officer, and Dave Gregory, General Manager of SBI, is appointed Managing Director of Baseblue North Europe.

“Baseblue brings together the best of the three leading brands to deliver agile and innovative solutions for our customers worldwide. We are committed to delivering real unrivalled value and peace of mind,” mentions Lars Nielsen, Baseblue CEO.

The new company has offices in Greece, Argentina, Cyprus, Hong Kong and the Netherlands. The combined company employs over 80 people. Baseblue has brought together specialists in specific markets, bringing global expertise under one brand. The combined team has a diverse range of maritime knowledge. It delivers holistic and integrated bunkering and lubricant solutions, alternative fuel options, risk management consulting and unique post-fixture service for the vessel’s end-to-end coverage.

This merger comes at an exciting time for the marine energy industry. With the addition of the SBI experts, Baseblue is well-positioned to take advantage of the growing demand for clean, renewable energy solutions. Baseblue is helping its clients navigate the transition to alternative fuels as the shipping industry looks to decarbonize. “With a dedicated team of alternative fuels experts, Baseblue can provide up-to-date knowledge and guidance on the availability and supply of alternative fuels to help businesses meet their emissions reduction targets,” says Dave Gregory. Not only does Baseblue help procure future fuels, but it advises on which fuel choice is best suited to each client’s needs. This comprehensive approach is helping businesses make the switch to cleaner, more sustainable operations.

“We are committed to staying ahead of the curve,” says Gregoris Gregoriou. “Baseblue navigates our customers towards solid energy solutions. Safely guide them towards their business goals by offering seamless marine energy solutions effectively and competitively.”

The merge is effective immediately. Beyond the name and logo change, customers will not experience any changes in daily operations.
